Afternoon Tales: A Storytime for Adults

Addressing Racism in Health Care
Thursday, Sept. 17 | 10-11 a.m.

Dr. Farida Kassim Ejaz, a senior research scientist at the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, will present her research on racism experienced by direct care workers and how her findings can be used to address racism in health care facilities with anti-discrimination policies and programs.

Scary Twitterature Writing Contest
October 1-29 | Grades 6-12

Write a scary story in 280 words or less for a chance to win a prize sponsored by the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library. Three winners will be picked in both middle and high school divisions. An entry sheet and full guidelines will be available on the Teen Events page of the library website (www.BeavertonLibrary.org/TeenEvents) starting the last week of September.
